Asian Religions Surprise!
Dec. 8th, 2004 03:00 pmIt was real wierd. My Asian Religions Professor, at the end of class, told us that he was feeling generous. Therefore, he said, he was going to calculate our grade for the semester thus far and email it to us on Monday. If we like what we see, we don't have to take the final. If we don't, we take the final, and it gets calculated into our grade as usual. Now by my reckoning, I have an A- in the class thus far. And the final looks pretty hard. On the other hand, I'm probably getting a B+ in Japanese, I don't know what in English (most likely a B: we'll see after I get the paper back tommorow), and probably a B in Astronomy, so it might be worth it to go for the extra grade point???
EDIT: Yeah, after tearing my paper to shreds, he ended up giving me a B on it. It's really a pain in the ass, because the Professor's such a likeable person that you can't even hate him for it. Grr. Why'd I have to go to the 4th best Liberal Arts college in the country? I feel like my situation as an English major wouldn't be as dire in like the 20th.
...No, I suppose not, that would be crazy. I have a lot else to do, like an Astronomy final the next day. It makes me sad that work is bringing down my grades so much this semester. Also, Lizz told me yesterday that all I do is sleep ^-^;; (Does ideally sleeping from 12-8 count as all I do is sleep?). Apparently my roommates think I don't do any work, which is kinda saddening when I do so much of it. I just don't do it last minute, like they do (that's right! I said it!). Actually, I can't afford to, because weekdays with work and school are pretty rough, so what work I can get done in advance, I do. Yeah. Work Sucks. But I'm one of the unfourtunate poor ones at Penn, and it's Christmas-present-shopping time. What can you do?
I hope I did okay on my Japanese Oral Exam today...I don't know, though. I didn't use many grammar patterns. It's hard to use grammar patterns just on the spot! You have to sit there and think, "uh...so what can I squeeze into this sentence..." Oh well, it's only like 10% of the grade. Tommorow and Friday are the real things that matter- chapter exam!
