Midterm Philosophy
Oct. 22nd, 2005 06:55 pmSo, my Rise of the Novel class lets out at 1:50-ish and the train to Fox Chase comes at 2:10-ish. And I need to catch that train in order to make it to work on time at three. Usually I make it on time ala trolley.
This schedule is crazy, and sometimes I get out from class late. Friday was one of those days- it was 1:55! I thought, "There's no way I'll make it all the way to thirtieth street by 2:10-ish." So I contigency-planned and ran to the El-34th street. I got there at three and the El came right away.
So I was debating whether to stay on the El or run for the train from fifteenth. It was 3:07 when I got to fifteenth, but I decided to go for it. And I ran. And I made it. I always seem to make the train when I decide to go for it.
So there is your philosophy for this oh-so-wonderful period of midterms. "Go for it." You'll probably make it.
