Winter Wonderland?
Dec. 5th, 2005 07:21 pmI went and saw Beauty and the Beast last night at Walnut Street Theatre. It's a nice place, surprisingly I've never been there before. And the show was good...I forgot how much I liked that movie. I think I've always identified with Belle-- you know, a book a day. But I was thinking while watching it how much it resembles a Gothic Novel, with old enchanted castles, captured maidens, and whatnot. It's like an 18th c. Gothic novel kiddified.
I'm also so glad I saw Rent! It really made an impact on me. I went and bought the soundtrack, and I listen to it incessently. I didn't think I'd like it that much. Do you know Chris Columbus directed it?
I can't believe it's almost the end of classes. I did surprisingly well this semester, with a lot less work than past semesters. Not that it hasn't been work, but I've also managed to hang out with people lots and hold a job. I think I'm finally becoming a real english major (I'm a real boy! lol). I can write good papers with less struggle than before. My thanks goes out to Gamer last semester for that.
I'm excited for snow. I don't even care that I have to commute in it. Today I asked the kids to guess how many inches it will snow tonight, and the nearest guess gets a prize. Most of them guessed six to seven inches...I think it was wishful thinking on their part.
