Working the Sean Astin Piece

So yeah, so I went to a Sean Astin book signing tonight!!!! God bless the Library and my connections to it, which in most cases I regret, but this time worked out really well for me.

A few hours beforehand in work fragilentity and I hyperventilated in work together (not really, but very closely). Then we headed over to wait in line with her roommate at Freinds Select school around five....then I went and picked up merisunshine36, and around six they let us in. Couple minutes later my Dad and Sister showed up. It was a family affair, folks.

The auditorium was pretty small, but ended up being packed. Everyone waited in anticipation till a couple minutes after seven Sean and his family walked in, and the crowd roared over the lady trying to introduce him...it was pretty funny. Sean has an absolutely adorable wife, and two even more adorable daughters that a lot of the time stole the show from him.

Once I got over the awe of having Sam right in front of me...*Sam* who carried Frodo up the mountain, tottemo kawaii, my favorite hobbit Sam...I reflected on the fact that he went on about nothing when speaking. He told us his schedule for the year...yeah. But he was so cute doing it! And mad props to Comfort for actually getting up and asking him an intelligent question (and staying cool!), which he answered intelligently. It was something along the lines of, "What lesson did you take away from being part of the Fellowship?" and he answered, "That you can't go it alone."  He was kind of disparaging to the drooling fanboy who asked him a question, though, and that was funny.

Afterwards we got our books signed. That was a lot of fun. We monopolized most of his time. We got him to write quotes in our books (Mine reads: "Susan- There's still some good in this world and it's worth fighting for!"), meanwhile taking pictures and making a movie. Greatness.

Anyway, it was cool. It's wierd how an actor is just a person, and yet they have this awe-inspiring effect on people.

Also I've been feeling like a horrible person lately, just in the way I've been treating people, but I think that may be as a result of sleep deprivation. I really want it to be thanksgiving break soon, and I forget about people for a while. But yeah, I'll have to post the pictures when I get them. Sean Astin! It still hasn't set in yet that I actually met him.
