Temporal Disturbances (Or wtf? X16?)
Dec. 7th, 2004 08:14 pmI went downtown today to study in Borders, and it was really wierd. I found X16 in the Waldenbooks! I thought it wasn't supposed to come out until February? Unless it was a fluke, I got the last volume on the shelf, and it wasn't in any other stores. Maybe they weren't supposed to put it out yet? In any case, yayness!
EDIT: Okay, so I'm not so well informed, and it came out a month ago. I'm still excited!
So, a review, for anyone who cares: I've only done a quick flip-through to check the translations on the major plot-points. I had a pretty good idea of what it was *supposed* to say from my translating project over the summer. And let me just say. The X translators are brilliant people. If you're worried about the translation, don't be, it was all correct, and what's more, they took some pretty interesting liberties. Whereas, in the Japanese volume, Seishiro says "I...(on the topic of) you... *dies*", in this one...hehe, well, I won't spoil it for you. It was all grammatically correct, though, and we still don't know whether he loves or hates Subaru, but the textual clues in this one seem to lean more in the direction we all want...Also, I found some cute Kamui-lines too that they changed a little. Only, after having looked at the japanese right-to-left version of the book for a few months, I found the flipped version a little disorienting.
YnM 2 was also out. I got a not-smeary one this time. The print quality seemed better overall.
My cold was so bad today. After I thought it was getting better! blah. Oh well, off to study...
