Sense and Nonsense
Jan. 11th, 2005 03:09 pmI started back to school yesterday. It's been a very tiring past couple of days, but tiring in a good way. Sunday afternoon I moved back in to my dorm and then wen to see House of Flying Daggers with Comfort that night. So I didn't get to bed till twelve, and then I got up at eight the next morning to buy books and go to class, and hopped on the train straight from class back home to work at FOX until six. Then, I got up at seven this morning to run from class to work to work again until eight tonight...*sigh*
However! There is no third roommate! Lizz moved out to go to France, and the roommate that was assigned to take her place is apparently non-existent! Klepto and I are happy. There is a possibility that she may move in later in the week or month, but for now I'll revel in her non-existence.
Also, my classes this semester all seem promising. My Greek and Roman Mythology professor is hilarious. He said, "People are always saying we should return to classical values. I don't know if that's quite right..." (points to the slide behind him in which Cronus is eating his babies). hehe. He's great. Also he went to the same high school as Joxer. I don't know what merit that has.
Jane Austen class is cool as well. For our midterm, we get to adapt a chapter into a screenplay. (Since we're comparing Jane Austen film adaptions to her books). But movie-watching night is tonight, and I have work during that time, so I'm already missing the first movie. I'll have to find time to go and watch it in Van Pelt.
I find it hard to believe that it's the second day of class and I'm already behind in work, but I am. I have to finish reading the Iliad for tommorow *and* read up to chapter eight in Sense and Sensibility. Which isn't horrible, but again, I have work...And of course, Japanese laid it on thick right from the bat! We have a review quiz on Friday!
Oh well, I have off on monday again. For "Martin Luther King Birth Day" as my Japanese teacher labeled it. And I found my daily planner! It was in my drawer at work! You don't understand how happy I was, I *live* off of that thing.
