Work! Work! And more work! I've been so busy with schoolwork it's sick. But so have the rest of us, right?
I've been meaning to write this out for a while. I absolutely love my English Professor. He's made me re-discover how much I loved English and writing and everything bookish before I came to Penn. In a discussion on free indirect discourse, he said, "The only two stories I ever got published were from the point of view of inanimate objects. One was a tomato, the other was a thin mint at a cocktail party that didn't want to be eaten." I only wish I were that cool.
When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a writer. The love interest from "In Good Company," (which sucked, but applies in this case) said something like, "I always liked other people's lives better than my own, they're more interesting", in explaining why she wanted to major in creative writing. I find that particularly applicable in my life. I spent most of my middle school years very much concerned with the life and times of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Shameful! Forget I said it) rather than figuring out what I wanted from life, or even spending time with friends. And I'm not too dissappointed about the fact, either. Since then, I've gotten a little better along those lines, but not very much.
So I've decided to find an internship in publishing this summer. I hope it will work out. I still have to set up meetings with career services people. Maybe it will help if I declare a major and minor as well.
Tsubasa the anime will be released in April in Japan. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it being anime: they look kind of wierd adapted to film.
Also, GO EAGLES <3
