Apr. 12th, 2005 10:00 pmIt's about time that I update my journal! I have lots of pretty
pictures from Niagra to share. Niagra was fun. The falls were extremely
beautiful, the museums appropriatey cheesey (it's the home of Ripley's
Believe it or Not, originally set up to record the various stunts
people did across/down/through the Falls), and clubbing was also fun.
We also had brunch on the Skylon tower, which reaches way up high, so
you could see all around the area, and see the falls from above.
Here is my favorite picture of the falls, taken "behind the falls". You paid some money to go down behind and right next to Canada's falls, or "Horseshoe Falls." The water was really powerful; it rumbled.

Here is the falls from right beside. Again, the water was breathtakingly powerful.

Here is Sarah and Jeanne in front of the New York side of the Falls:

And here is me and Jeanne enjoying the nightlife. No, those are not alcoholic beverages....

I have lots more pictures, but those were my favorites. It was fun times. It was certainly an adventure...the flooding we got here was snow up there. We had a heck of a time walking around and getting home! Of course, Canadia-jin don't believe in shoveling, and I had no boots...Also apparently, their snow season lasts until May. Now you know, despite how tempting it may be, never live in Canada.
This past weekend I spent with Sara [Unknown site tag]and it was also fun. Friday night we watched Quills, a movie about the Count DeSade (sp?) for whom sadism was termed. Saturday I had work, blah, and the Saturday night we went to see a play at the Mirriam and then went to the Italian Bistro, where we got 'cappuccinos' :). Then Sunday, we went to the Cherry Blossom festival, and it was the perfect day outside for it. We saw the Japanese Tea House in Fairmount park, had lunch under the Cherry Blossoms, and watched some Taiko!
Now, it's back to work. Long papers drive me crazy, so lately I've been pushing people away. I'm sorry! I promise I'll get better.
Next week I'm going to do a presentation in Baltimore with the lovely Comfort[Unknown site tag]. It's some stress, but promises to be fun!
