This weekend was fun. The Modest Mouse concert was fun. I went with Comfort, Dave, and Maria. It was at the Electric Factory. While we were waiting for the concert to begin, they showed Speed Racer clips on the wall (the epitome of cheese, but great to watch). The opening band was of the major left-wing persuasion, and felt the need to project pictures of Kim Jong Il and atomic bombs while they played...I hate that, keep your political pretensions to yourself and play the music. If your music is good enough, you shouldn't need that.

But when the Mouse came on, everything was better...they just got up there and played, played almost all songs from Good News for People Who Love Bad News, and I got to watch and sing along. Out of everyone there, I was the one who knew and liked the music the most, so I think I had a better time. I hope that they didn't mind too much being dragged, especially since there was some moshing going on...not as bad as it could have been, though. For the encore, MM played The Good Times are Killing Me mixed with Cowboy Dan, and that was the best part of the concert!

I also loved Howl's Moving Castle and walking around downtown beforehand. I have a Momiji plushie! And I recommend the movie to anyone who was thinking of seeing it, it's probably Miyazaki's cutest film yet, and the main characters are adorable (I liked it so much, I made my brother 'aquire' it). I want a copy of the book by Diana Wynne Jones too, but it's evaporated since it went out of print...I might have to Amazon it.

Sunday was Father's Day, so we had to get up early to go out to breakfast. Then I laid around reading Shojo Beat the rest of the day. Which, was actually pretty good.

Today I went to interview at Lawncrest. I was nervous. They were impressed with my experience, but I really felt the impact of my young age...the librarian thought I was interviewing for a TLA position to begin with. They said they "Had one more interview, and then we'll call you." Is that hopeful?

This weekend I'm going to Washington for a family vacation. I'm actually looking forward to it, I've been getting along with everyone better than normal. Maybe it's the prolonged exposure. And there's lots of places I've never been in Washington.

moshing is scary. I'm too short to handle that.

what is Lawncrest?

It is scary, but there really wasn't much of it going on.

Lawncrest is a branch of the Library. In Lawncrest. lol.

I interviewed there for an after school leader position. So I would be in charge of all the TLAs that work there, and I would help kids with their homework and plan programs. And I would only work there, and only during after school hours, for sixteen dollars an hour. So it's a pretty sweet deal.
