Vertical Horizon

I went to see Vertical Horizon last night with Dave as a birthday present. Though I had my doubts, and I wasn't feeling very well, I had a lot of fun. Pepper's Ghost opened for them, and I absolutely fell in love with them. Look them up. They're hot. And they're local boys: they did that song "Friday Night in Philadelphia." They sound sort of like the Beatles. I have their CD, bought it for ten bucks afterwards.

Then, the Pat McGee band played for an hour and a half. They were okay, but does anybody know who they are?? I don't.

Then Vertical Horizon came on and tore it up! Metal-style! Who knew, a three hit wonder emo band can play metal guitar? Shocked me. They were awesome, though, and now I want their CDs. It was a long night- the concert lasted from eight until twelve fifteen.

It was fun to go out. Recently I've been wishing I had friends who I can go out to bars with. You know, just for a drink, to meet random hot guys. I feel like I'm missing that in my life. And now, I'm not even moving back on campus, so I'm definetly missing it :( Don't get me wrong, I love my friends. (Well, except for Candice, who has been torturing me awfully about missing her stupid spa birthday celebration, because I'll be on vacation. Augh, it's awful. The same girl who told me I couldn't drink, although *that* party was canceled).

I'm also reading Wuthering Heights, which is excellent.

EDIT: I got totally soaked on the way home yesterday! Why did it have to rain at exactly five, and stop at 5:15? And I got a notice in the mail that a video was overdue...which I already knew. I was dumb, and let a YLASP kid take it out on my card to do research for an article. She has yet to bring it back, and I keep kicking myself...I think it might come down to holding her paycheck, if she doesn't bring it back today.

I hate to break it to you, but both you and me still have to wait a bit until we can do the bar stuff. So, for this school year at least, you're not missing anything. But! On your 21st, I promise that we'll get a group of people together to go bar hopping/ clubbing. It'll be nice to finally be able to legally drink when I'm out...

(...I really hope I don't sound like the girl who told you couldn't drink. That was not my intention. Because I could care less about who does or does not drink. I'm just opposed to getting kicked out of bars or lying about my age so I don't get kicked out, lol.)

lol, no, you don't sound like her. It wasn't so much what she told me as the way she told me.
Anway, that's true, we still have a while. But, yay! That will be fun. I was just thinking about it, because everyone in work was talking about going out, and it was making me sad, lol.

I hate when people betray your library card trust. There's a fine on my Penn account from frosh year because of that. Totally hold back the kid's pay!!!!

And speaking of alcohol, they are having an happy hour at work...it will sooo not be fun because I can't drink....urgh. Bethany is always telling me bar stories at work, and I'm always like *no fair...frown*.

I know, you try and be a nice person, and they totally screw you over! lol. We did hold her pay. So hopefully she'll bring it back this week. ^-^;;

dude i was out w/my sister and her older friends yesterday and her cute friend Jay was like when you turn 21 you can hang out w/us big boys. he was totally hitting on me btw. LOL

6 MONTHS TILL 21 SUCKAZ! lol. ok so maybe that was mean, lol. but yeah. i can't wait!

dude i so wish i could have gone! my sister was supposed to go but then she couldn't. i LOVE VH! i have two of their like 3/4 albums they're really good. i dont even know the next time VH will be back to philly, it makes me sad. =( i got to see coldplay last night! i'll write about it in my journal. =)
